GENERAL OVERVIEW
Intoximeters Alco-Sensor® V Accelerator© ("Accelerator") is a Windows application that allows the download of breath test results from the Alco-Sensor® VXL into Microsoft Excel® (Intoximeters Alco-Sensor® VXL and Microsoft Excel® sold separately.) The name of the software is an intentional pun on what the software does - excel-erator - bring your data into a Microsoft Excel compatible format.
BASIC FUNCTIONALITY
A single mouse click of the Download button, and Accelerator will log into your Alco-Sensor® VXL and download its stored test results. Accelerator performs a mapping and conversion from the series of related tables native to Alco-Sensor® VXL into an easy to understand and navigate single record per test view of that data. Click the View button, and the data is opened automatically in Microsoft Excel. Once the information is in Microsoft Excel®, you have the tools of this powerful Microsoft productivity application you are already familiar with at your disposal to search, sort, filter and report on your data.
ALCO-SENSOR V ACCELERATOR FEATURES
Ease of Use and Simplicity
One button-click operation turns on the Alco-Sensor® VXL and downloads the tests. One button-click opens that data in Excel.
Data Storage
Maintains a comprehensive record of all testing conducted on your Alco-Sensor® VXLs. There is no restriction as to how many Alco-Sensor® VXLs may be downloaded with a single copy of Accelerator software. Depending on the version of Microsoft Excel, a single spreadsheet can store 65,536 (Excel versions through Excel 2003) or 1,048,576 (Excel 2007) test records. Multiple spreadsheets may be used if any Excel limitation is ever reached.
Querying and Statistics
You may use the extensive capabilities native to Microsoft Excel to query and garner statistics from your data.
Networking
The Alco-Sensor® V Accelerator software will operate as a standalone system or as part of a multi-tiered network of computers running the Accelerator software. With the click of a button, the data downloaded from multiple workstations is merged at a designated "hub" workstation into a single spreadsheet facilitating the consolidation of data. This networking relies only upon Windows file sharing capability - the availability of a network share (shared directory) common to the workstations and the designated hub.

Communications Dock and Serial Cable
Alco-Sensor® V Accelerator includes a docking station and serial cable needed to connect your Alco-Sensor® VXL with a standard 9-pin serial port.
Serial or USB Port
An available 9-pin serial or USB port for connecting with the Alco-Sensor® VXL is required. When using a USB port, a supported USB to serial adapter (purchased separately) is required.
